Vintage Brass Restaurant Menu Holder Corner Post Mount signed C.H. Hanson

For your consideration I have a vintage brass and wood constructed restaurant, 90 degree angle, pole mounted menu display. So this item is in very good usable condition just the way that it is with the following to note. While no or limited defects are visible here are a few items worth noting. This display has brass access doors on each side with the left hand side bottom hinge being stuck or frozen, as well as the bottom hinge being detached from the mount. If you look closely at the very last photo you will see where the hinge slides out of in back of the brass when lifting that side. Tried to capture that while lifting that side up, once you put it back down it slides back into place and secure in back of the brass faceplate. When I used it, I simply did not use that side to access the interior and kept it closed all the time. This door hinge may be repairable but I'm not going to force it or try to repair it as the access door on the right side works great and allows access to both sides of display, however, the right hand side would need a little tinkering to keep it fully closed, a small latch added to the bottom exterior of the door would work perfect, I just never did it, but would not take much to do. This display is not rain proof as it has a couple of holes drilled in it assumably made for wiring of lights. I first thought this item looked home made then noticed a stamp on the left door of C.M. Hanson. I don't know if just the brass came from Hanson or the display was produced by the Company, in any case, I don't believe it matters. It is solid, looks great, very functional, original untouched brass patina, circa 1900, good glass, no breaks and ready to hang. Dimensions are 18" high x 3.5" depth and both display sections are roughly 10" wide each. You'd be hard pressed to find another quite like it.
