In the English Middle Ages and renaissance, the Moon was held to be the god of drunkards, and at least  London taverns were named " The man in the Moon"
Origin:
United Kingdom - I bought it myself at Portobello in London
Metal:
NO precious metal - but you can easily put a gold or silver bail on it.
Size
Round shape - not flat
Diameter approx. 1.9 centimeters or 0.75 inches - diameter is a straight line passing from side to side through the center of a body or figure, especially a circle or sphere.
Please check item in my hands, next to a US quarter, on the measuring tape

Details:
Naïve carving, color variation throughout due to age (see pictures from ALL angles) - pictures were taken on a sunny day at different times of the day (morning and mid afternoon) with a green plant background. Pictures were taken with an Iphon*. No filters were used no alterations were made. Colors might display differently on your screen or you might perceive the colors differently. Either way, I decline ANY AND ALL responsibility.
Material:
BOVINE
bone (so pls don't close the auction) - bovine bone is allowed on eBay and is not prohibited. Bovines are aplenty and the sale of items made out of bovine bone is not prohibited in any part of the world
PLEASE CHECK PICTURES FOR SCALE AND SIZE: -  on the measuring tape (inches), in my hands (I am female), next to a US quarter coin.  Compare the stated measurements and the weight to a charm you own (for scale). I am very precise but you must read.
Weight and measurements are always approximate and taken to the best of my abilities.
Condition
is antique (meaning art deco  - 100+ years old) obviously pre-owned, used, worn, loved -
with the usual scratches and wear. The carved round charm shows various colors due to its age and exposure to air. It has some marks (bites) - pls use zoom feature and check ALL THE pictures.  It's really a neat charm. Nothing unusual to point out for a 100+ year old charm BUT not new, as new or almost new. Please have realistic expectations. Check ALL PICTURES, use the Zoom feature.
