    LEVON I, AD 1198-1219.
    Silver TAHEGAN or TRAM (also called by some authors Coronation tram), (2.97 grams, 22.71 mm).
    Obverse: Armenian legend around the king, holding lily-flower and cross, seated facing on throne made of two lions.
    Reverse: Armenian legend around two lions upright, back to back and looking back, with long patriarchal cross in-between.

    The founder of the Rupenid dynasty, Levon, ruled as Prince under the Name of Levon II since 1185 and was, at his demand, crowned king of Armenia in AD 1198, as Levon I, by the Archbishop of Mainz, Conrad of Wittelsbach, by Authority of the Pope and of the Holy Roman Emperor Henry VI. This issue is featured in the Michiner as Coronation coinage.
